Cinelogue

History

Cinelogue began in 2009 as two brothers and a website: one built it, the other edited it. Thirteen writers eventually signed on, and by 2015 we had published more than 360 reviews, seventeen features and ninety-two shorter pieces.

Then our lives outgrew our spare time and the updates tapered off. Nobody announced anything. The site just went quiet.

The name has since gone to someone else. We miss it, but we don’t regret any of it.

We’re back because life has made room again, and because film writing that sounds like someone actually thought about the film is in short supply. We’d like to add to it. The old reviews return a few at a time, joined by new ones from us and from writers we’re recruiting. Features and monthly Issues will follow once there are enough of us, and eventually a printed companion.

Still no stars, no scores, and no plans for either. Read why we think something works, then argue with us in the comments. And if you’d like to help keep it independent, there’s a Patronage page.
